How to make agarbatti (Incense) ? ( Part1 )

Agarbatti (Incense) industry,or also called incense sticks industry has been long developed all around the world , especially in India, Thailand and Vietnam market,…In hindus and buddhists’ beliefs, the smoke that gets produced by burning an agarbatti (Incense) is able to carry the prayers’ wishes of worshipers and convey it directly to the Gods that reside in heaven. Manufacturing agarbatti (Incense) includes a lot of processes that demands the employees always be careful and skillful… One of the very  first  process is making bamboo sticks, the main material of agarbatti (Incense).

Bellows are eight basis steps:

Step 1 :Collect bamboos ( the trees that are not too old but not too young)
Step 2 : split bamboos into smaller slats
Step 3: Dry them outside and under the sunligt
Step 4 :Slice these dried slats of bamboos
Step 5: Use automatic machines to cut them into tiny sticks
Step 6: Scrape sticks until their surface become smooth, this step is also by machines.
Step 7 : Choosing sticks,  eliminate the ones that dont meet standards. This step is all carried by hands..
Step 8 : Cut sticks into demanded size ( 8’’, 9’’).
These are just the most basis first steps to manufacture agarbatti (Incense). No word can describe how complex they are and how sincere the makers are through every step to turn the raw and ugly bamboos into sacred agarbatti (Incense) to dedicate to supreme  Gods.
